Hello!
In preparation for the release of my newest art collection, "Discovering Ireland, Layer by Layer", I wanted to share a very special part of the inspiration behind the making of these paintings.
If you don't know already, music has always been a huge part of my life. I've played piano since I was a tiny girl all the way until half-way through college. I still play now for the joy of it and have spent a lot of time in my past writing my own compositions. I have always been inspired by Celtic music, far before I ever even went to Ireland. Having Irish and Scottish ancestry and family that are skilled musicians in southwestern Virginia, I think it runs in my blood.
All of that being said, whenever I paint, I always listen to music at the same time and love making playlists to go along with the theme of what I am painting. I wanted to share with you the music that became the soundtrack for this entire body of work so that you could get a deeper understanding of what inspired me in my studio when I was creating it.
I hope this music inspires you too and transports you, along with a few sneak peaks of my upcoming work, to the coasts and countrysides of the Emerald Isle.
The full collection of originals, prints, and other special things will be released this October! If you would like to be notified of my art collection updates, get first access, and receive special perks, please join the studio! You can sign up here, if you haven't already. Enjoy the music!
