With summer in full swing, I thought it would be the perfect time to share with you a really fun house portrait I had the pleasure of painting a couple years ago: a beach house!
This client wanted to surprise her family at Christmas with a really sentimental and meaningful custom gift of their beloved house that they would visit each summer at the beach. She only had one reference photo to give me and I want to show you how I was able to take that one photo and, with a little vision and artistic license, memorialize it in its best light and highlight its unique character.

Goals for this commission:
1. Adjust the perspective of the house so that it is facing forward 100%.
2. Remove distractions on the sides and in the background of the photo to keep the spotlight on the house itself.
3. Capture the warmth and light, portraying the house in its best light, full of character.
